The tongue can be a truely dangerous weapon. It can hurt someone deeply or lift them up when they need it the most. In James 3:8 it is said that the tongue "is an unruly evil, full of deadly poisin." We as Christians need to put a bit in our mouths so that what comes out of our mouths is what God would have it say. Everyone likes to use thier mouth for evil things (gossip, lies, cursing, etc..). However, the question you should be asking yourself is, "Is what I say give a positive outlook on other Chirstians an dmost importantly God?" If we are spreading gossip or tearing people down then we aren't useing our mouths for God's will. We should be going out and lifting up the weak, showing the world the love and compassion of God. we as Christians should be giving a positive outlook to ourselves and be positive influences to the world. We need to be useing our words to set the world on fire for God. My challenge for you is to lift someone up and show kindness through God's words!!!!

Christmas Time Is Here
So it's that time of year again.... and I see people packed in the stores and getting in the Christmas mood. However, I see that a lot of people aren't celebrating the real reason for the season, and that is Christ. after all without Christ there would be no CHRISTmas. Jesus came to earth in the form of a babe to die for our sins. In my opinion, Jesus gave the ultimate gift. I hope this season that you give the gift of the word of God. Tell someone you know or someone you just met about Jesus.
A lot of churches are canceling their services on Christmas morning. However, Kenwood Missionary Baptist Church is going to have regular church services. We start at 10 am for morning services and we look foreward to having you!

Personally i would like to thank the lord for all I have been given and every oppertunity he has given to me to spread his word and let him shine through me. I have also seen how some have been looking past this AMAZING holiday. It made me think of how important it should be, how important giving thanks to God should be. So i challange you to Give thanks to God not only tomorrow but EVERYDAY! To God be the glory!
